II Ciutat de Valencia Kettlebell Sport Open: Recap and Official Gallery

Official IUKL Activity · April 18 · Valencia

On April 18, the city of Valencia solidified its position as the major epicenter of strength sports in Spain with the successful celebration of the II Ciutat de Valencia Kettlebell Sport Open. This day of exceptionally high-level competition featured official events counting towards the world ranking of the International Union of Kettlebell Lifting (IUKL).

To ensure the highest standards of competition, the event was organized and strictly verified by renowned international judge Andrei Frolúshkin, whose technical supervision guaranteed the validity of each lift. The event was made possible thanks to the coordination of the Kettlebell Club Valencia, the Spanish Kettlebell Lifting Club Association, and the strategic production of leading sports event agency Hevents.es.

Authority on the Platform: Veterans and Sport Referents

We had the privilege of seeing world absolute champion Aleksandr Khvostov in action, a living legend who demonstrated masterful technique. Alongside him, our reference athlete Jesús Ochoa (8acoach) shone brightly, and later, our national world champion Carlos Broseta along with Borja Otaola (an athlete acclaimed by the press).

The platform vibrated with the experience of veterans such as Ricardo García, José Raúl Manchado, Manuel de Escayola, and Diana Eugenieva. We enjoyed the presence of the tireless Leovic E. Nuñez, Konstantin Dodokhov "El Niño", Vanessa Veracruz, and Mar Irazusta. In the heavy resistance modalities, experienced athletes Hunter Lang, David Fernández, and Santi Latorre stood out, alongside the athletes from the Fuerza KTB team.

Fitness World and New Prospects

Special mention goes to the Mallorca expedition and the talent from the amateur fitness world that is raising the national level. The zonafitpro.com team delivered a memorable performance with Iván Correa (silver) and the unstoppable María del Mar Piza, who continues to add to her competitive record.

It is a source of pride to see athletes like Noemí Andueza, Noemí Jurado, Marta Nicolau, Svetlana Grigorenko, Luis García, Rubén Rausell, Jonatan Ruiz, and Eric Seres transition to Kettlebell Sport. Furthermore, we celebrate the absolute competition debut of Yaroslav Buhakov (gold), Vicent Ribes, and Marina Peña (who started with a brilliant silver), demonstrating that the generational shift is more alive than ever.

Why Did We Choose Hollow Competition Kettlebells?

Kettleland's goal is to raise the standard of equipment in Spain. For this reason, athletes competed with our Kettleland Professional Hollow Kettlebells. Unlike filled weights, Hollow Core technology offers an unalterable center of gravity, which reduces grip fatigue. For a perfect grip, lifters relied on Kettleland sports chalk throughout the set.
