Another study using simulated 16 kg snatches recorded approximately 83% of VO₂max and 98% of the participants’ maximal heart rate.
The evidence supports the idea that snatches can provide an intense cardiovascular stimulus, but it does not show that they are superior to every other method or that they guarantee a specific improvement. Fat loss depends mainly on energy balance and adherence; hypertrophy requires enough volume, tension and recovery, and the snatch usually works better as a complementary conditioning tool than as the only muscle-building exercise.
